The 2009 Grand Final, filmed for TV, and held on the Nick Faldo Championship course at the superb Oceanico Amendoeira Golf Resort in the Algarve Portugal has been hailed as an outstanding success by everyone who took part.

14 pairs of golfers played in the Grand Final in a 3-ball competition, alongside their club legends.

Legends in attendance at this year’s final included;

Teddy Sheringham (Man Utd), Tony Coton (Man City), David Lee (Bolton), John Adridge (Liverpool), Andy Walker (Celtic), Frank McAvennie (West Ham), Keith Dublin (Chelsea), Marc Falco (Spurs), Ian Selley (Arsenal), Iain Ferguson (Rangers), Brian Martin (Motherwell), Chris Hillcoat (Hamilton Accies), Joe Allon (Newcastle) and Micky Horswill (Sunderland).

Eventual winners of the 2009 title on 67 points, Wayne Feeney and Neal Canvanagh achieved their final place after North East heat winner Jack Nunn and Ian Moore had to pull out due to business commitments.

Their unfortunate situation was a God-send for Geordie pairing Wayne and Neal, who, partnered by local hero Joe Allon, managed to pip Arsenal pair Zach Lichman (Ziggy) and Ricky Burns, by just two points to lift the trophy.

The trophies were presented to the winners and runners up at a Gala Dinner in the beautiful Amendoeira Golf Resort Clubhouse, by Teddy Sheringham and Matt Lorenzo.
