Course info: Length: 6,562 yards Par 71

Formed in October 1890, Pleasington is without doubt one of the best tests of golf in the North-West of England, with a superb layout, being part heathland in character with some heather. This beautiful and picturesque golf course set in a delightful rolling landscape is within 2 miles of exit 3 of the M65 Motorway in Pleasington, a rural village area on the outskirts of Blackburn. The course itself has magnificent country views the high ground.

The course has undergone many changes in subsequent years, and still continues to develop. Most recently, new blue championship tees have been opened on several holes, in particular extending the length of the 3rd, 8th and 17th holes, and creating a spectacular new blue tee high on the hill for the 12th hole.

The course itself is a varied mix of heathland cum parkland cum moorland and it keeps you entertained all the way round. Some of the best holes appear at the turn where the landscape takes on a rugged and rather dramatic nature.

Today’s course measures 6,562 yards from the back tees and it’s a layout that tested many of the region’s best golfers. Pleasington was used for Open Championship Regional Qualifying in 2005 and 2009.
